Motorists using the Thika superhighway this morning were stuck in traffic after a section of the road was closed to help put up the footbridge located at Garden city Mall.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) had announced that a section of the Thika Superhighway would be closed for 5 days starting August 21.

Motorists have been advised to use exit 8 at Kasarani, follow the Babadogo road and join Thika Road via the Outering road.

Those headed to Thika will be diverted to use the alternative routes behind Mountain Mall.

KeNHA has asked motorists to exercise caution around the work areas and adhere to the traffic directions given my traffic marshals. The footbridge at Garden City Mall is being erected to easen the use of the road by pedestrians who will use it instead of crossing on the super highway.
